Being home feels wonderful, and seeing our family and friends again has been heartwarming. Michael had the week off so its been nice having more family time before he goes back to St. Francis. Poor Jakey is going to miss his Daddy soooo much once he's back at work, but I know they will get right back into their routine of boy time when Michael gets home in the evenings! And we have a new sports season to attend-- Michael is coaching cross country and basketball, which I'm sure JK will enjoy seeing. Jake doesn't start school until after Labor Day, so he and I will spend time catching up with friends and swimming in the meantime. Even just this week, Jake's vocabulary is still expanding, which never ceases to amaze Michael and me. Everyone is commenting how tall and grown up he is (he grew over 1.25 inches this summer!), which is hard to hear as his mom who just wants to slow him down! I'm excited for a fun-filled Fall and everything that is to come for our family. Right now we are just savoring being back at home and together, which is an unbeatable feeling that makes me feel immeasurably blessed! Church tomorrow morning is going to be JOYFUL!! So much to be thankful for!!!
Colossians 3:15-17 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
